The place immediately stands out with its authentic, rustic vibe and warm, welcoming atmosphere that perfectly captures the spirit of the seaside village. It is the kind of restaurant where you instantly feel at home, yet at the same time, it offers something unique and memorable. The menu is full of hearty, traditional dishes cooked with love and generosity, but the star of my experience was definitely their famous “Drunkard’s Soup” (Supa Bețivului). It was rich, flavorful, and comforting – the perfect balance of savory tastes that makes you want to come back again and again. It’s one of those dishes that lingers in your memory long after you’ve finished eating, both for its taste and for the way it fits perfectly with the relaxed vibe of Vama Veche. The staff was kind, friendly, and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Service was quick, but never rushed, and everything felt natural and genuine. If you are looking for authentic food, a cozy atmosphere, and unforgettable flavors, Povestea Ceaunului is a must-visit. I would highly recommend it to anyone spending time in Vama Veche. ”

“ I have been to Povestea Ceaunului a few times and I am satisfied with the service, food, and atmosphere. At lunchtime, the terrace is very busy and the food may take a little longer to arrive. The food is very good, especially the fish specialties. ”

“ The service was very good. The waiters found us a table quickly and provided us with our drinks and food in a short amount of time. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. We could see the seaside from our table which was a very nice addition to the already pleasant experience. As per the food, we ordered the following: Drinks: - Green Apple (slightly sweet but very refreshing) -Raspberry Lemonade (slightly sour, but refreshing and you could taste the raspberry flavour) Main dishes: - Sfaraiala de Pui cu Smantana si Mamaliguta: Excellent food. The dish combined many traditional aspects and tasted really good. - Saramura de Pui cu Mamaliguta: The chicken was very tender and full of flavour. The only downside to this dish was that the sauce was a bit too salty for my liking. Dessert: - Papanasii Casei pe Pat de Smantana si Dulceata de Afine: Extremely tasty. The Papanasi were cooked well and the dough was soft and tasty. The Blueberry jam was a nice mix between sweet and sour which was perfect after the main course. Conclusion: Overall extremely happy with the restaurant. The presentation of the food was also a nice addition that stuck with me. I expected the prices to be much higher considering we are at the seaside, but with an estimated 46-52 lei for a main dish, I was more than happy. I recommend going to the 2nd floor in order to get the nice view of the beach. ”
